Beijing, March 2026 — Vuk Jeremić, President of the Center for International Relations and Sustainable Development (CIRSD), participated in the China Development Forum (CDF) 2026, one of the most prominent high-level platforms for dialogue between global business leaders, policymakers, and leading thinkers. Held in Beijing on March 22-23, 2026, this year’s Forum was convened under the theme: “China in Its 15th Five-Year Plan Period: Advancing High-Quality Development and Creating New Opportunities Together.”
Jeremić underscored the importance of stability in an increasingly uncertain global environment. “This is a very unstable world. There are not too many parts of the world that are truly stable, well-planned, and predictable. China, in my opinion, is the symbol of stability in today’s world,” Jeremić said.
He also pointed to the global implications of China’s long-term economic planning, noting that the country’s forthcoming 15th Five-Year Plan presents significant opportunities beyond its borders. “It offers a sea of opportunities, not just for China, but for the rest of the world, if the rest of the world chooses to engage,” he added, emphasizing the importance of international cooperation in fostering global prosperity.
The China Development Forum is widely regarded as one of China’s most important international policy and business gatherings, bringing together senior Chinese officials and a distinguished group of international delegates from the corporate, financial, academic, and policy communities.
Among the prominent international participants at this year’s Forum were Tim Cook, CEO of Apple; Oliver Blume, Chairman of the Board of Management of Volkswagen AG; Jay Y. Lee, Executive Chairman of Samsung Electronics; Patrick Pouyanné, Chairman & CEO of TotalEnergies; Ola Källenius, Chairman of the Board of Management of Mercedes-Benz Group AG; Georges Elhedery, Group Chief Executive of HSBC Holdings; Jean Lemierre, Chairman of BNP Paribas; Andrew Mackenzie, Chair of Shell; Albert Bourla, Chairman & CEO of Pfizer; Pascal Soriot, CEO of AstraZeneca; Roland Busch, President and CEO of Siemens AG; Sergio P.
